They are generally waterproof, but avoid putting them on where they will be exposed to sweat. Use smooth skin areas without hair and where there is not a lot of flexing/movement (joints), or scar tissue. A couple of places that often work well: the forearm, around the ankle (1-2 inches above the ankle bone), shoulder.. Experiment to find the best spots on your body.
